When Lucio Argento is dumped by Amteep High’s most popular girl, he plots revenge in a way he’s certain will crush her. He convinces Jamie Blair – the target of his ex’s bullying – into doing a makeover that will garner enough votes for her to be Prom Queen. What he doesn’t expect is to fall for Jamie, or to become her willing accomplice in uncovering who is behind the spate of deaths of animals in their community. When their classmates begin to die in the most horrific ways, Lucio and Jamie discover dark supernatural forces are at work, and unless they can conjure a miracle, everyone will die at Prom.

Book Review

Lucio Argento gets dumped by Brittney Shaw, a popular girl in Amteep high school, and plots an act of revenge against her by all possible means. He chooses Jamie Blair, a frequent target of Brittney’s bullying and insults, and decides to make her prom queen with the mutual help of a few popular friends of his.

Brittney, on the other hand, dumps Lucio because of his slim chance of becoming the prom king. She so much wants the crown that she can go to any lengths to get it including summoning a nasty blood-thirsty demon. She must get that crown or everybody dies.

Looking at the cover of the book, it wasn’t entirely appealing and I couldn’t relate the title of the book with the entire story. But if you look past these things, and go ahead to read the book, you will totally enjoy it. The book certainly creeped me out, and the romance made me giddy from my toes to the tip of my hair. His Scream Queen is the third novel in the “Be Mine” series but it can be read as a standalone. I love the supernatural elements and the romance interwoven into the story. This book shows the way people are willing to go to any lengths to be accepted into the high-class society and how covetous the heart can be.

The story is fast-paced. The lead characters were well introduced and amazing. The budding romance that blossomed between them was wonderful to see. The character development is solid, and the book is professionally edited. I recommended this book to fans of creepy high school stories with a hearty dose of romance and the supernatural/paranormal.

I want to appreciate Booksirens and Boroughs publishing group for providing this ARC for free in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are mine and I voluntarily leave this review.
