Being immortal doesn’t mean you can’t die. It just means you’re damn hard to kill.

Book Review

Alexei is a diehard assassin and one of the members of the Forgotten Brotherhood: a group of paranormals that are contracted to exterminate other paranormals. He is a hybrid: a polar bear and a vampire, thereby making him one of the deadliest in his line of work.

Cassandra Dobbs is a reaper who has left her job to explore humanity and live her life. Alexei gets a contract to kill her, but he decides to investigate first before he signs it. He discovers that something doesn’t feel right and he couldn’t quite place a finger on what it is. He becomes attracted to Cassie, which violates the first rule of the Brotherhood. It turns out that he’s not the only one searching for Cassie and Alexei is determined to protect her till the end. He’s a bear on a mission.

N.J. Walters definitely has a way with words. Her writing is admirable. I love the way she describes the emotions of the characters and the intensity of the romance. For example: “They were vanilla ice cream. This was a hot fudge sundae with extra chocolate and sprinkles.”

Arctic Bite is really engaging and I enjoyed every minute of my time devouring this book. There were moments when I smiled and laugh out loud. The main characters were very realistic, relatable and likable, and their conversations were interesting to read. I loved Cassie’s character the most. She’s intelligent, mature, bold, passionate, good-spirited, and equally deadly in her own right.

Although this is the second installment in the Forgotten Brotherhood series, it can be read as a standalone. If you enjoy paranormal romances and fantasy with a touch of humour, you will love this book. 🌟🌟🌟🌟Stars

Arctic Bite by NJ Walters

About the Author

Once upon a time N.J. had the idea that she would like to quit her job at the bookstore, sell everything she owned, leave her hometown, and write romance novels in a place where no one knew her. And she did. Two years later, she went back to the bookstore and her hometown and settled in for another seven years.

One day she gave notice at her job on a Friday morning. On Sunday afternoon, she received a tentative acceptance for her first erotic romance novel and life would never be the same.

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.
